Volunteering for TEDxWarrington is an incredibly rewarding experience, and one that gives me a unique glimpse into the creative process behind the talks we all love. As part of the speaker support team, my role goes beyond logistics - I get to work directly with some of the incredible individuals who are preparing to take the stage and share their ideas with the world.

Being a speaker support mentor is about more than just helping someone practice their talk. It’s about helping ideas take shape, ensuring that each message is concise, engaging, and impactful. I answer questions, provide feedback, and help to guide speakers through the twists and turns of this creative process. Some days are filled with bursts of inspiration; others, a little frustration as speakers refine their ideas - but every step is part of crafting a talk worthy of the TEDx name.

What I find most inspiring is the dedication and vulnerability of the speakers themselves. Sharing an idea in front of an audience is no small feat, and supporting them through this journey is both humbling and exhilarating. I work with them to help them find clarity in their message, shape it into a narrative that resonates, and, ultimately, bring their vision to life on stage.

Volunteering for TEDxWarrington has reminded me of the power of ideas and the importance of nurturing them. It’s a privilege to witness creativity in action, to see the transformation from concept to presentation, and to play a small part in amplifying voices that deserve to be heard.
